Exploration of New IdeasHere is a stop motion to introduce myself to my class. It is a combination of LEGO and Claymation so I call it 'Clegomation'. ☺ Exploring Ideas by Exploring the Past Our Grade 4 students programmed a Sphero to, like Franklin's expedition, try and traverse the Northwest Passage through Northern Canadian waters. We projected the map onto the floor and then set up obstacles to recreate the frozen and dangerous northern waters. They followed up by writing their Captain's Log to match their journey.
This is a popular video for science on light. This is an intro to being a good Digital Citizen. Here is some fun using Augmented Reality. Below is an activity using coding and Spheros to teach the telling of time. This is some fun using the green screen app DoInk to teach dialogue. Here I was making an augmented reality (AR) flag with Quiver and the DoInk green screen app. Students can use AR with Aurasma (HP Reveal) to bring their work together as a class. This is help for teachers in using Guided Access on iPads and an intro to Aurasma (HP Reveal). Here is a way to use the Padlet app for features of print in works of non-fiction. This is a sample of student creations in the LEGO Club I ran at lunch time at our school. |
PD: Sharing DiscoveriesHere is a Professional Development video I took lead on planning and developing, on how to approach teaching in a 21st Century classroom. Following is a Prezi I used for my presentation at the 1st Annual Innovation Day. Below is an animation I made to help show different 21st Century pedagogy that are key in helping your school adapt to the new learners. Below is a Prezi presentation I put together for staff to review the "Constructivist Approach" to teaching, as directed by the Halifax Regional Centre for Education. Below is a PD I ran at my school on connecting Project Based Learning with 21st Century learners. Following is a brochure I helped create to cover how different social networks could be used to strengthen your Personal Learning Network. Following is a Prezi I helped create for teachers struggling with the new Google Apps but want to challenge themselves to try something new. McLuhan, Franklyn, & Ford are brought into a discussion on how 21st Century learning goes beyond the device and into the "Global Village". |
